Photo Booth: 26.11.2011

I was all nicely dressed in a little black cocktail dress (I call it angel dress) with a luscious makeup and beautifully accessorised with pearls and diamonds for the romantic dinner at a classy restaurant, and just as the night called off, all of sudden I realised we had forgotten to take pictures of us together! 

It was such a waste (because I had my camera with me the entire evening) but that also shows how good the food was to shift our attention off our outfits completely. 

Alex and I had a great time together tonight. We were so lucky to accept chef Aoki's generous treats - salmon belly sashimi (a very special and scarce part of a salmon) and adzuki bean dorayaki. We love the chef and will always love the restaurant heartfelt foods and services.

Alex was fast asleep as soon as he got home (as the drive was too long to reach the restaurant) while I was busy playing with Photo Booth on iMac. I felt in love with this software since ancient years ago but at that time I used to amuse myself with really stupid and funny faces with special effects you can choose from the option. Nowadays, I began to love myself a little more each day so I decided to do more proper posing in front of the screen.

Here we go... Cheese! ^_^

Well, I know I need to get a haircut soon... Perhaps a new colour too!

By the way, that's one of my favourite pyjamas I got from Hong Kong.
I love the cutesy printings on it...!

Time is late now. I better head off to bed.

Symbol of my love

The man whom I am deeply in love with surprised me with two presents the night before.
He said: That is a symbol of my love.



The pearl bracelet and the premium Akoya Japanese pearl earrings.



The pearls look more lustrous in real life than the photo portrays.
The pearls are perfectly round in shape, dainty and lucent.
Their subtle pinkish hue gives rise to a mystical charm that can't take my eyes off them.



I always say, Alex has good eyes on gems, diamonds and pearls.
And he says, that's why he chose me.

Have I told you before that Alex is really good in cooking?

He puts in a lot of thought and effort while selecting the ingredients and preparing the course.

In the past, he made me a lot of nice European dishes, snacks and delicacies.
Never would I thought he will surprise me with such an authentic and delicious asian meal for our dinner tonight.

Clinique Laser Focus

I am not a skincare expert. I happen to be a woman approaching my 30s and is utterly panicking about the early appearance of fine lines.

Good restaurants are not many in this town but the good ones are always really good.

Mum I hate you

I think I begin to hate mum because she comes and goes. Now I am back as a lonely child again...

Please don't get me wrong. I think she is a really fantastic mum. In fact, she is second to none...

When I was younger, mum and I used to have heart-to-heart chat every night.

Being a modern mum, she listened to what I said and agreed with what I did.

So we had no secret in between.

Since I left the country, mum knew very little about my life abroad.

And you know you can't always count on the phone or SMS to express your feelings.

So I keep my stories and tell her every year when I see her.

Mum's holiday ended today, so were our girlie chats and heart-to-heart moments.

This evening I sent them off at the airport, suddenly I was hit by a familiar rush of loneliness...

It felt so much like when I left home 7 years ago.

Mum, I don't mean that I hate you... I just hope you know how much I love you...

Sleeping next to me

It is 10:59pm now and everybody else is fast asleep except me...

Alex has been sleeping at the big house since my parents' arrival and for the entire week when he wasn't around, I felt a little... no... not a little, I felt very lonely indeed.

One morning he looked a little fatigue as I picked him up to work so I asked him "are you okay?"

And he said he missed me terribly. I tittered happily because I felt the same way...

Alex and I have been living under one roof for more than a year now...

He has a cutesy habit of rubbing baby lotion on my hands before bed...

The subtle baby aroma has a strong hypnotising effect and my sleep is always pleasant when I know he is not far away from me. I feel very secured when he is around and this feeling is very important to me.

I remember a long time ago when I stayed on my own, every time Alex left the place I felt the instant insecurity. As soon as he drove off the house, I slammed the bedroom door, shut the light, jumped onto my bed, had my head covered under the pillow and my body shivered underneath the duvet. In the mid of trying to fall asleep, suddenly I heard the door bell rang. It was about 12am midnight, twice the bell rang and I didn't bother to answer. I was too scared to even go near the door...

In the quiet, the dude's footsteps became more vivid walking on the front garden lawn. He came around the other side of the house, entered the patio and began to knock on my bedroom window. I was terrified and even on the verge of peeing in bed already! I didn't bother answering again but after several knocks on the window I thought to myself, "hmm... could it be the neighbour trying to warn me about something hazardous... like fire or theft? Maybe I should just find out?"

So I tiptoed to the window, flipped the blinds and was shocked to find the silhouette behind the window was Alex! He was so cute in his pyjamas! At that instant I felt so relieved that it was actually him standing out there...! He came to bring me some vitamin C because I was complaining about mouth ulcer just before he left. He is such a kind person... he really is... and he looks after me very well too. 

Recently he bought me a Daikin air purifier (top model too!) because I was whinging about the dust at home. It is such a cool machine it detects dust and foul smell in the living room automatically and it comes with many filters to keep the air clean and healthy for me and the parents... How thoughtful he is? Thinking about Alex always make me smile... I really miss him and hope to see him soon.

It is 11:51pm now... I think I have killed enough time and should be sleeping soon.

Lunch at Megalomania

Good breezy mid-morning we had today!
We just came back from lunch at Megalomania and the food was pretty good. Lean and tasty!
We sat at the patio under the fig tree while enjoying our lovely meals in the soft breeze. Nice!

It is normally quiet on the week days but today was surprisingly busy.

We ordered quite a few dishes and they were all very good picks.

#1 Mum's laksa loaded with asian herbs and vegetables. 

#2 Coconut-battered tiger prawns for sharing.



#3 Dad's Thai salad with Chinese five spice pork crackling and glass noodle.



#4 This is one of the best picks today - Alex's barramundi spring rolls with Thai chilli dipping sauce.



#5 My healthy option - steamed scallops with blue crab meat, pork crackling and thai salad.



I am glad that everyone enjoys the lunch...
It worths the long drive...

When I was young...

Dad shows me some funny cartoons I used to draw for school when I was young...
They were published in school magazine in 2000 when I was sixteen and they have now become one of my dad's most favourite collectibles.
