Flowers again!

It means a lot to me when I receive flowers from the patients and my staff...
It may just be an ordinary bouquet from the flower shop... but these people have gone completely out of their way to make me smile and feel appreciated. I must be very lucky to deserve this...
Thank you all very much

This is why I ♥ my job so much!

Fall is Gone; Winter is Here

Just a picture to remind myself of how beautiful these native plants were in the late autumn...
Still feel like yesterday, the mauve flower spikes will soon disappear when the winter takes over...
I have started to bring out jumpers and duvet to welcome the early winter arrival though heater is not yet needed at this stage. Last night was really cold. In the middle of the night, I was glad that someone's feet were keeping mine warm...

PS: The greatest part of living on the outskirts is to able to observe how nature changes with the season; and how the wild lives adjust to this change.
Cherish the greenery while we can. Goodbye autumn!

Cherish the life's surprises!

Hello bloggers! Another weekend has gone by. Did you have a relaxing one?

This morning, I was watching the breakfast news about a horrifying T-bone collision between a Ferrari and a taxi in Singapore (I try not to contaminate my blog so you might want to watch it here instead).
Car accidents happen a lot these days. It is nothing new to us anymore, but knowing that similar mishap could easily happen to ourselves leaves me feeling lucky that I am still breathing... at least I am still alive!

Like we always say- life is not rare, but previous, not fragile, but vulnerable. Accidents are human errors. They can be avoided. And I love you guys, so please look after yourself and do not drink and drive (^_-)

Back to last week...

My last week has been pretty eventful. Other than my nice curly hair cut, we also met a new friend from Britain by coincidence! It turned out that we have somehow seen or linked to each other before we met. What a surprise! Alex and him chat along quite well (probably because he is also a British), so I do hope that their friendship goes a long mile...

Well, speaking of friends, I didn't think we have been out with friends or colleagues for a while now...
How long ago was that???!!!

Sometimes living is not about playing by the rules - study, work, marry, have baby, get old then die...
Season your life by cherishing the bits and pieces in between.
Cherish the love. Cherish the friendship.
Cherish the life's lessons. Cherish the life's surprises!

And by the way......

I have finally reached my 100th post after 10 months of blogging!
I have at least shown some commitment to the blog... ^_^
Are you proud of me???

5. 唱 K
6. 吃 Buffet
7. 看鬼片 (弟弟超讨厌我们俩看鬼片的,因为他怕鬼!)
8. DIY
9. 煮饭做菜
10. 驾车到处溜

那些好玩的日子,现在有多么想念啊~

最后也祝天下妈妈-母亲节快乐 ^_^

Driving after Dark

Driving after dark in Malaysia you have to constantly watch out for robbers but driving in Australia you have got to be really careful with these guys......

Some of them are of a fair size I am glad that the mob did not hop in the middle of the road as we drove past them ^^

Amazing Citiscapes

I wish I could have taken more skyscraper pictures while we were in HK as we always believe that HK has the most captivating cityscapes in the world.

Sure enough.
The view from our hotel room during our first visit to HK is more impressive than I'd imagined.
I am glad we asked for higher floor level. It is worth paying the extra for its spectacular harbour view.

The second year when we were there, we stayed at another hotel in Causeway Bay; facing yet another eye catching view of the Happy Valley Racecourse.

We were having lunch at the Harlan's restaurant in Kowloon and captured storm clouds view by chance.

The stunning view of Hong Kong island by night from the Peak.

And watching the dazzling neon skyline burst into life from Hutong restaurant.

I thought the nightlife picture (below) turns out quite nicely given my poor shooting skill + aging camera + Parkinson hands. Hmmm...... no???

The light show is one of the largest spectacles of its kind worldwide and plays every night from 8pm.
You may catch a better view from the Avenue of Star but viewing it from the restaurant can avoid the large crowd.

Hong Kong is such a vibrant city, always full of colours and surprises, don't you think?

SKII Facial Treatment Essence Review

Welcome to 1st day of MAY!!!

So... THREE weeks have elapsed since our last chat about SKII ^^
I have never used any product from SKII before, so this is pretty exciting for me!
I bought these products weeks ago during a mega price drop at Sasa website, because I was convinced that the facial treatment essence may help to resolve some of my biggest skincare dilemmata - dry, dull, flaky, red and uneven skin... pretty much everything... You name it!

And because my skin is so sensitive, I can barely tolerate any make up on my face.
My skin problem has always been an ongoing issue since I was very young. Looking back, it is really bizarre as my two brothers have really good complexion, sometimes it makes me wonder where on earth did I inherit this from? Well... because of my rosy cheek, I find most of the time there isn't even any need to apply blush on my cheek! This is how bad and how sad it is......

Until I get my hands on the miracle water...... and I embark on my first miracle journey with SKII!

Overall, I think this facial treatment essence has helped very little on my dry and flaky skin, although it has significantly calmed and reduced the redness on my cheek. I use it twice daily, morning and night, after washing and/or exfoliating my face.

There are three ways of which you can apply the miracle water on your face:

1. Pour a couple of splashes onto palm and pat it straight onto face
2. Soak cotton pads with treatment essence and place them onto face
3. Transfer essence to a spray bottle and spray it liberally onto face

Either way you are going to waste some of this miracle water...... unfortunately!
I prefer to pat it straight onto my skin because I can gently massage my face at the same time too.
Also, does anyone notice a mild pungent smell from the water too?
It reminds me of sushi rice......^^

If you ask me if the price for this product is justified? I think it is worth for its every penny.
However, SKII facial treatment essence should not be used alone in your skincare practice.

At the moment, I am using the following regimen:

Neutrogena cleanser ---> SKII facial treatment essence ---> Clinique laser focus ---> Clarins moisturiser

It is worth noting that the final moisturiser step is crucial as using serum alone does not provide sufficient hydration to the skin. And due to its smaller molecular size, SKII serum should always be applied before the moisturiser but after cleansing the skin.

And because my skin cannot tolerate any harsh chemical, most of the time I only apply tinted moisturiser on my skin. Even so, I can still spot the dermatitis around my nose and minuscule milli under my eyes.
I am still looking for solutions to these (wish me luck)!
Please let me know if you have any special trick or remedy to share (^_^)

NB: Dear sweetheart, if you are reading this, I would like to thank you wholeheartedly for your endless love and support in helping my skin to recover. He has been compounding cream after cream to help my dry skin to surviving through this winter.

Thank you for reading again.

Have a wonderful day!
